About Us

Flow Trainers was founded by two NCAA Division I athletes who recognized the importance of role models for young athletes. We both benefited greatly from the additional training we had received from older athletes within our community. This platform is built to help connect young athletes with mentors within your area to advance the confidence, skill and passion of athletes. We believe that having the opportunity for individualized or small group training will grow an athlete’s game to the next level by providing continuous encouragement and instilling tenacity.

OUR FAMILY STORY

This business was started by a family centered around sports. Growing up competitive athletes, there were times we sought out additional training to push us to be the best we can be. We recognize that the process of finding a trainer that is a good fit may be hard to come by. Our parents had this experience themselves, filtering through numerous contacts before finding a trainer we were able to connect with. This motivated us to create a platform that would simplify the process of finding local trainers by giving parents the ability to view profiles of athletes in their area and messaging them directly.

Having the opportunity to play lacrosse at Yale University has opened my eyes to the need for greater opportunities for communication and community between trainers and athletes. From a young age, I’ve had the chance to work with some of the world's top players in my sport and create a bond that I have carried with me for years. I’ve had the unbelievable opportunity of playing on the U21 USA Men’s Lacrosse team, where my teammates and I were able to recognize the positive influences of mentors we have all had to get us there. Playing lacrosse at this elite level was made possible through the extra work I put in with my trainers. Seeing it from the other side now, I have noticed how some of the athletes I train look up to me, and how often they reach out looking for help whether it be in my sport or general advice. Our plan is to help reach kids that don’t have the tools or means of communication to help them within their sport. We wanted a central hub that brought together trainers from all different sports allowing for easy access to training opportunities while strengthening the community through sports.

As a co-founder of Flow Trainers, I strongly believe in the numerous benefits of this platform. At a young age, I had a trainer who helped to fuel my passion for the sport to get to where I am today. I looked up to her not only as an athlete, but as a person and mentor as well. Her drive and love for the sport was evident within each of our sessions. I didn’t know it then, but these sessions helped to later fuel my own desire for becoming a trainer.Through my time playing soccer at the Divison 1 level, I returned home each summer to train young athletes and continue connections. In my hometown, I was lucky enough to have worked at a soccer camp where connections were made. Fast forward to moving to Boston for grad school, a new city with no connections I was no longer able to rely on established relationships. I tried joining facebook groups, reaching out to clubs, and other means, but came up empty handed. This sparked an idea within me that I shared with my family in which they immediately saw the vision. I hope and believe that Flow Trainers can help to bridge the gap between athletes and trainers to foster beneficial relationships for both parties.
